Suurmestari House (Season 4)

Jollaksen Manor is located in Jollas in Laajasalo, Helsinki.

The manor's history dates back to 1798, when its lands were separated from Holmgård Manor. The current main building of the manor - which has protected status - dates from 1919. It was built by deputy judge, banker Viktor Alexander Tavaststjerna, and designed by architects Malmström and Tikkanen.

Over the years, the manor was owned by vicar Pettersson at the end of the 19th century, and after that by station master Robert Rosvall, deputy judge A Laurell, and the Tavaststjerna family.

In 1920, the lands of the manor were divided between Tavaststjerna and his siblings, with the middle part of the estate and the main building going to Viktor Tavaststjerna, the eastern part going to his brother Alarik, and the western part to his sister Selma Alftan.

In 1940, the manor was sold to the S Group (a cooperative retail organisation), which used it as its training facilities. In 1981, when S Group wanted to give up the manor, the city of Helsinki used its right of first refusal to acquire the manor for itself.

In the 2010s, the city tried to sell the mansion, but ended up instead renting it to the restaurant entrepreneur Antti Tuomola. After this, the family cafe business Kuuma Helsinki Oy operated from the manor.

Today, the manor is a meeting and party space, beach sauna venue, and event centre.

Taskmaster connection
