South Pacific Pictures is a New Zealand television production company which creates drama series, mini-series, television movies, and feature films for the domestic and international markets.

SPP's largest property is Shortland Street, the half-hour soap opera aired on TVNZ 2.

In 1998, the company produced the feature film What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?, the sequel to Once Were Warriors.

In 2000, the company moved from Browns Bay (Auckland) to a new purpose-built studio complex in Henderson, West Auckland.

In 2002, it produced the Oscar-nominated feature film Whale Rider and, in 2006, it released Sione's Wedding.

Taskmaster connection

South Pacific Pictures's West Auckland studio has been used for the filming of the live studio sessions of some seasons [to be clarified] of Taskmaster NZ.
