Biography

Ruth Beeckmans (born 6 May 1982) is a Belgian actress.

In the theatre she has appeared on stage in several productions by HETPALEIS, MartHa! Tentatief, KOPERGIETERY, the Koninklijke Vlaamse Schouwburg, luxembourg and BRONKS. She is also an actress in the productions of the theatre company Compagnie Barbarie, which she co-founded with six fellow students.

She was one of the actors in the sketch show Wat als? [What if?] and has performed on television and in films mostly smaller roles, including in Loft by Erik Van Looy in 2008 and Code 37.

In 2013 she took part in De Slimste Mens ter Wereld [The smartest person in the world], where she qualified for the finals by holding out for five episodes. She was also a jury member in De Slimste Mens ter Wereld in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018.

She played one of the leading roles in Safety First on VTM in 2013. In 2014 she took part in the quiz Scheire en de schepping.

In 2015 and 2016 she was captain in the VTM quiz programme Zijn er nog kroketten? [Are there still croquettes?].

From 2018 she is a permanent panel member in the Beste Kijkers [Best Viewers] programme.

In 2019 she played the role of Lise in the movie Trio and that of Sandra Verbeeck in the television series Studio Tarara.

In 2020 she participated in The Masked Singer on VTM dressed as a monkey, dropping out in episode 6. She was also seen in 2020 as a presenter, next to Koen Wauters, in the VTM television programme Snackmasters, and in the series De Bende by Jan de Lichte on Streamz.

In 2021 she can be seen in the television series Albatros on Canvas.
