The Taskmaster

The Taskmaster was a 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show presented by Alex Horne. Throughout 2009, he set 20 comedians monthly tasks to complete. In the two-hour live show, he discussed each contestant’s attempts at each task, with a screen behind him showing photographs of their attempts. The show was followed up with the Taskmaster II live Edinburgh Fringe show, featuring just 10 contestants, in 2011.

• In the first year of the show, the panel consisted of a staggering 20 contestants.
• For the second year of the show, this was reduced to 10 contestants.

• It does not appear that there were any team tasks in this version of the show.

• Ties were settled with tie-breaker tasks, live on stage.

• The only prizes in this version of the show were actual trophy cups.
