The task brief is found on a table in a sports stadium. The brief for the task is as follows:
Pop the balloon.
You must stay behind the rope.
You may only use equipment you have purchased at Mark’s Balloon Popping Shop.
The tools in the store cost time.
Fastest wins.
Time starts when Mark has shown you his balloon popping shop.
Task notes
- Mark is waiting next to a table in the stadium, upon which there are several display boxes (containing forks, darts, rubber ducks, bags of pebbles, and blowpipes), a service bell, and a giant pair of scissors.
- There is a giant sign above the table which reads “Balloonspringningsbutik” (‘Balloon popping shop’).
- Near the table is a red velvet rope attached to two stanchions.
- An orange balloon containing some water hangs from a wooden frame, within throwing distance of the velvet rope.
- A device with spikes is suspended above the balloon, and held in place by a string which is tied to one of the stanchions.
- The prices for the various items in the balloon popping shop are as follows: forks – 2 minutes each; darts – 2.5 minutes each; rubber ducks – free; a bag of 10 small pebbles – 1.5 minutes; a blowpipe & protective goggles – 1 minute for both; scissors – 11 minutes.
