Task brief

The task brief is tucked into the top of a wellington boot, on the stage. The brief for the task is as follows:

What have you caught?

Fastest correct answer wins.

You may only give one answer.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

  • Also sticking up out of the wellington boot, there is a fishing rod, threaded with a long pieces of white string.
  • The string runs all around the outside and inside of the house, caravan, dome, and hutch, criss-crossing itself, and tangled up around various items.
  • The contestants arrive at the side of the house wearing a pair of fishing waders.
  • As the contestants begin their attempts, the sound man approaches them under the pretence that there is an issue with their mic, and Alex pauses the clock while the man attaches a small sign with the word ‘fish’ on it to the back of their waders.
  • In the caravan, the string enters a locked safe-box through a small hole. The key to unlock this box may be found on top of the large golden pineapple in the dome. However, the string then merely travels through another hole in the back of the box (with a helpful red arrow pointing towards this), and so doesn't actually benefit the contestants at all.
  • The other end of the single (200m long) piece of string is attached to a pillow shaped like a fish, which is hidden inside the secret compartment in the bookcase in the living room.
