Richardson prepares well

Before Antoine is able to start the metronome, Richardson asks if he is allowed to fetch a water bottle. Antoine is distracted from his duty by the question, looking over the task brief and rhetorically asking if the task forbids any liquids.
Richardson leaves the study and returns with a large glass of water, giving him an advantage before the task even starts.
He blows up his balloon with small puffs, and accidentally knocks it around the desk while getting his wrapping paper ready. While trying to catch it, he then accidentally knocks over his entire plate of crackers.
After wrapping his balloon, he picks up the crackers from the floor and puts them into his glass of water, making the cracker-eating part of his task significantly easier. Between eating soggy crackers and drinking a glass of water mixed with dissolved crackers, Richardson finishes all of the tasks well within the time limit.
With 18 missed ‘metronome’s, Richardson wins the task.
