Pete’s epic pivot

Pete initially suggests that an over-the-shoulder wink would be epic, and acts out what that might look like, but is careful not to actually wink.
When Tom asks him what would be ‘epic’ to him, Pete says that he would love to create a drone wink shot, in which a drone zooms in from behind some trees and up to his face, before he winks at it. As he is describing his vision, though, he holds his hand up in front of his face and then winks, so Tom stops the clock, pointing out that the task has ended.
When Pete checks that he isn’t going to get to create his epic drone shot, Tom reminds him that the first wink counts. Pete quickly pivots to arguing that his accidental wink was epic by describing it as “almost Shakespearean” because his hand was in front of his face in a “nod to the great Bard”.
In the studio, Pete claims that the joke is on the Taskmaster, as he will never get to see his epic drone wink. When Tom Gleeson asks what went wrong, Pete says he was just in the moment, but adds that he still thinks it was pretty epic. Tom Gleeson acknowledges that Pete’s pivot to citing Shakespeare was amazing.
When scoring, Tom says even though Pete’s attempt was short, it was still better than Mel’s and Concetta’s “shit” attempts, so Pete is awarded 3 points.
