Aaron’s legitimately life-threatening welcome mat

Having read the task brief, Aaron asks Tom Cashman to turn his chair around, stating that he wants it to be like The Voice. In the studio, Tom Gleeson notes that Aaron was the only contestant who didn’t ask Tom to leave the room while preparing their welcome mat, instead merely asking him to face the other way.
Aaron sets up his mat in the study and stands nearby, toasting a marshmallow on a barbecue grill. He tells Tom to come in, but tells him that there’s a strict shoes-off policy. His welcome mat is covered with knives and scissors, blades pointing upwards, is splattered with red and yellow paint, and has also been placed on a skateboard.
When Tom asks Aaron if he would like him to step onto the mat, Aaron replies “As a human being, no. But as someone in the entertainment industry, absolutely, yes.” He then laughs and, as Tom tentatively attempts to find a place on the mat to put his foot, tells him not to step on it, and to just come in.
In the studio, Tom Gleeson states that the mat itself was extremely unwelcoming, but points out that Tom Cashman had called Aaron’s bluff and was then invited in. However, Aaron argues that the mat itself had not welcomed Tom.
Aaron wins the task and earns 5 points.
