Cecilie tempts fate

Upon seeing the set-up in the lab, Cecilie immediately says that she hopes that she doesn’t have to paint anything, and that if the task asks her to, she will “explode”. Mark spends the rest of Cecilie’s time in the lab holding some of the lab’s protective sheeting over himself, just in case she does. After reading the task brief, Cecilie immediately dismisses the provided items, saying that one of the others will be “all over” them (she is incorrect).
The footage of Cecilie’s attempt begins after she has searched for items and decided to make Peter’s face out of various food items she has found in the kitchen. She decides on using a piece of layer cake as her base (or “head canvas”). Mark questions if Cecilie plans to draw on the face with a bottle of ketchup she has sourced, then questions whether Peter is the kind of person who gets “a bit red in the face late at night”. Cecilie agrees that he is, “especially when he’s been biking.”
Using a picture of Peter that she has pulled up on her phone for reference, Cecilie cuts her layer cake into a closer replica of his face before covering it in slices of cheese to more closely represent his skin tone. She sprinkles pinches of rosemary over the lower half of her cheese palette, calling it “stubble”. After drawing a mouth with ketchup (and adding what appears to be two marshmallow teeth), Cecilie gives Peter two eyes made from olives, using grape stems to create “overgrown bushy eyebrows”. She also puts a folded tie underneath her creation, to give it the appearance of a neck.
She searches the drawers in the study for something for her final touches, telling Mark that she will become upset if one of the others uses items that she has. Mark points out that with each item she uses, she increases that risk.
Cecilie returns to the kitchen and slices up a banana, carefully putting on a slice to represent Peter’s nose. Both Mark and Cecilie marvel that it is identical to Peter’s actual nose. Finally, Cecilie cuts up a single pipe cleaner into tiny parts, dotting them on the top of her creation to create Peter’s hair.
Cecilie then sweeps all of her used items into a bag, her reasoning being that if she throws her chosen items away, no-one will be able to use them (which Lasse describes as a brilliant strategy, in the studio). However, she does not actually throw the bag away herself, allegedly telling Mark (in footage that does not make the edit) to do it for her, instead. As Mark does not do so, and Peter subsequently almost exclusively uses items from the bag to create his own portrait, Cecilie is disqualified.
