Pierre seduces Antoine with chess

Pierre clears off the table and starts to cover its surface in a neat layer of wrapping paper, informing the camera that he knows for a fact that Antoine “detests sensuality”.

He strips naked and wraps his lower half in wrapping paper, adding adhesive bows on each of his nipples. He explains that he has a theme every Christmas, and that this year’s theme is “winter romance” (later in the studio, Louis hands each of the contestants a sweater with a picture of the bare-chested be-ribboned Pierre with the words ‘romantico hiver’ [‘winter romance’] on them).

To class up his wrapping job – and, presumably, to add to the ‘romance’ of his stated theme – he then uses some ribbon to make what he calls a “bow tie” (but is really just some ribbon tied around his neck). He even takes the time to wrap each individual foot to make wrapping paper shoes.

Finally, citing Antoine’s love for chess, Pierre takes one of the prop gifts (which is wrapped in red and black checkered paper) and places it on the table, setting several small knick-knacks from around the room on it, intending to challenge Antoine to a game.

When Antoine enters the room, he is met with the sight of Pierre laying on the wrapped table, his wrapped bottom half strategically blocked by the ‘chess board’, inviting him to play a game. Antoine makes a pun that the erotic aspect of Pierre’s chess (‘échecs’)-focused presentation has been lost on him (‘échec’, meaning failure).

Despite his joke, Antoine is apparently swayed by the chess game, and awards Pierre first place.
