Task brief

The task brief is laid on a wooden table-top, which is laid on top of an oil drum on the driveway in front of the dome. The brief for the task is as follows:

Make the most moves on the movement circles.

Your team-mate must flip a bottle then throw a dart at each dartboard to create a move.

If they get a bull's-eye, you have free choice.

Also, if they successfully land the bottle flip, your team-mate may place a dart anywhere in the dartboard.

Longest movement sequence successfully made wins.

Task notes

  • Also on the table-top, there is a plastic water bottle which is about two-thirds empty.
  • Next to the oil drum, there is a plinth upon which there are two hedgehog boot cleaning brushes, into each of which 15 darts have been inserted.
  • A couple of meters away from the plinth, there are two custom dartboards mounted on a single pole. The topmost board is divided up into 20 segments which are labelled with body parts (‘Bum’, ‘Left Elbow’, ‘Right Foot’, ‘Left Knee’, ‘Right Hand’, ‘Right Elbow, ‘Left Foot’, ‘Right Knee’, and ‘Left Hand’), while the lower dartboard is divided up into 20 segments of different colours (black, brown, pink, yellow, and white).
  • Inside the dome, circular marker spots in colours matching those depicted on the lower dartboard are arranged in a symmetrical pattern (six of each colour except black, of which there is just one in the centre).
  • As the contestants arrive, and before they read the task brief, Alex instructs them to choose who will stand on the doormat by the plinth, and who will stand in the doorway of the dome (and, for the team of three, who will stand on the market spot by the oil drum). After this decision has been made, the contestants do not appear to be permitted to switch places.
