Jenny struggles with outdated tech
Jenny has a little bit of trouble working out how to use the old-fashioned phone initially, but she gets there.
She initially thinks that Tom Cashman is probably indoors, reasoning that he’d otherwise be easy to spot, so she sends her first text of “u insid?”.
She then seems to forget the rules of the task, and so waits on the dock for Tom’s response, instead of moving anywhere. Eventually, she receives the response from Tom of “No I’m out in the open air”, before realising her mistake.
Deciding that Tom’s response means he’s definitely inside the house, she sends the text “Upstair?” and runs away from the dock. As she makes her way along the path through the woods, she receives the response “Yeah” from Tom, and decides that he must therefore be somewhere downstairs in the house.
Jenny realises that she can save characters by omitting question marks from her texts, and so sends Tom the text “lab”, before running into the house to the lab. As she arrives, she receives Tom’s response of “Yeah”.
Jenny decides that Tom is probably in the shed or the caravan, so she sends him the text “Vehicle”, before going to check the caravan. After she discovers he’s not in the caravan, Jenny receives the response “No I’m not in a vehicle” from Tom, indicating that he is, in fact, in a vehicle.
Jenny tries to get Tom to eliminate a potential vehicle for her to check by texting him “Which”, but Tom’s unhelpful response is “I’m showering”. Confused by what this means, Jenny considers what the opposite of showering might be, and decides it must mean he’s on the toilet.
Desperate, Jenny texts “Clue” to Tom, and he responds with “I don’t know where I am”.
Jenny then decides to go back and check the dock again, where she finds Tom underneath the upturned boat.
Jenny uses 41 characters and earns 3 points.
