Ben’s Deputy Prime Minister

Ben states that his choice of prize is obvious to every person from Aotearoa New Zealand – the Right Honourable Winston Peters, who was at this time Deputy Prime Minister (he’s been a politician since 1979, and has been elected or re-elected 15 times).

Ben states that he did ask Winston him to appear on the show, but he’d declined. He says that he’d also sent him an email asking him what his secret to everlasting life was, and what his plans are for the election in the year 1002026. Ben notes that Winston’s office has to reply to him within 20 days, but admits that he’d only sent the email that morning.

Looking at the on-screen image of Ben’s email, Abby notes that it’s written in italics, prompting Ben to respond that he’d done this because of “Elegance” (referring back to Abby’s own choice of prize). Abby responds to this by saying “Yeah, Elegance, baby! It’s the answer!”.

Jeremy decides that Winston Peters will probably last another 120 years, but the email Ben sent will not, so Ben earns 2 points.
