Alex bowls while Virginie loses her mind

Alex and Virginie are in agreement that the watermelon needs to be bowled. When Virginie starts to ask if they should cut the watermelon in half to give them two chances, Alex interrupts her to remind her that if they did, the watermelon would no longer roll. An embarrassed Virginie agrees, pointing out that she had been gradually lowering her voice while asking the question, as she came to the same realisation.

Alex bowls the watermelon, and his trajectory is dead-on centre, until the watermelon veers to the left at the last possible moment, completely missing all of the ducks. When Virginie asks if the task is over; Antoine informs them that they still have 3 minutes and 30 seconds remaining. Virginie immediately leaves the carpet to retrieve the watermelon, so they can have another shot, only to find that it has rolled into a ditch on the other side of a fence.

Virginie then seems to completely lose her mind, and shuffles through the formation of ducks, kicking over most of them, before running back to the carpet, claiming victory for herself and Alex.

Alex then takes his own turn off of the carpet, looking over the duck pile for any that Virginie may have missed, while Virginie re-reads the task brief.

Antoine fruitlessly attempts to explain what ‘You must all remain on the carpet’ means, while Virginie asks if they have lost the task. Alex cluelessly replies that he doesn’t believe they have.

Despite knocking over 132 of the 136 ducks, because none of them were knocked over while the two were on the carpet – and because they both broke the rules by leaving the carpet to begin with – the team is disqualified.
