Aaron kills his own grandfather

Aaron’s initial thought is that, in his scene, Tom Cashman will betray him, and he will therefore have to kill him. When Tom thanks Aaron for stating that his death would be a horrific tragedy, Aaron points out that’s only for the purposes of the film.
Aaron asks Tom what his strongest European language is, and Tom says that he’d done a year of German in year eight of school. Tom shows off his language skills by saying “Ich have eine grosse Hosenschlange.” When Aaron asks what ‘Hosenschlange’ means, Tom tells him it means “trouser snake”, so Aaron decides that this will be the very first line of his scene.
Aaron’s film begins with a title screen reading ‘Ein Film von Aaron Chen, Der Drohnenbetreiber’, which translates as ‘A film by Aaron Chen, The Drone Operator’. The scene is filmed in black and white, with Aaron and Tom sitting either side of the desk in the study.
Tom is wearing a top hat, and starts off by saying, in secondary school level German, “I have a large trouser snake.” They both laugh at this, before Tom counts up to 10 in German.
Tom continues to speak mainly in German, but reverts back to English for the words he doesn’t know. He explains to Aaron that there is a British spy, who is speaking English. After Aaron asks him how he is, in German, Tom says “Das target!” and slaps down a piece of paper. Aaron looks at it, salutes, and says “Ja”, before leaving.
The next part of the scene is filmed in the lab, where Tom is standing with a cup of tea and a slice of cake. As Aaron enters the room, he says “Mein Grossvater?”, meaning ‘my grandfather?’.
Aaron accuses Tom of not being German, calls him a traitor, and then asks him to prove he is German. Tom is then killed, and falls to the floor, before Aaron leaves the lab, asking, in German, where the library is.
Distraught, Aaron falls to his knees outside the house, and yells, in German “This is not good!” As the drone filming the scene zooms out, Aaron is seen crawling across the grass, wailing.
In the studio, when Tom Gleeson says he felt that there was not so much German in the film, Aaron claims that it was a co-production between the two nations.
Tom Cashman reveals that while the other contestants had given him a script for their scenes, Aaron had refused to, telling him to improvise using all of the German he knew.
Tom Gleeson says he feels that Aaron’s scene was emotional, but that the emotion it elicited was boredom, so Aaron earns 2 points.
