Jason pays tribute to Magnum PI

Having read the task brief, Jason immediately asks whether he’s allowed up on the roof, or to go out into traffic. When Alex tells him that neither of these things are possible, he complains that “Comedy thrives on ‘yes, and…’, not ‘no, but…’”. Alex points out that it was more of a “you definitely can’t”.

When Jason asks Alex what he does that is cool, Alex responds “Sometimes spit”, thus coining the episode title.

For his cool thing, Jason gets up from the table, points out that the double door to the garden is locked, and then pulls out and announces that he has a lock-picking set. He then proceeds to unlock (or lock, in the reversed version) the door with his lock picks, before opening the door and walking around the outside of the house.

He does a decent job of speaking in reverse, for the reversed version, but yells out “Cool!” in celebration at the end, which then comes out as “Looc!” in the reversed footage.

Returning to the living room, Jason asks Alex “What am I, Magnum PI?”. When Alex asks him where the lock pick set came from, his simply states “my bag”.

In the studio, Greg admits that Jason’s lock-picking was “Undeniably impressive”, and then asks Jason who he is. Jason claims that he’d learned his lock-picking skills after watching Magnum PI, and then buying a lock pick set and some practice locks.

After Jason confirms that he has the lock pick set in his dressing room, Fatiha asks Greg “Who do you let on this show, bruv?”, prompting Greg to respond “Says fucking Guess The Sweet”.

Though impressed by his lock-picking skills, Greg awards Jason 3 points for his reversed recreation.
