Mel predictably pivots to rap

Mel’s country song is titled ‘It’s All Danish to Me’, and is credited to ‘Miss Understood’ (the name of the hip-hop album she’d released as a teenager, as MC Melicious).
Her video begins in black and white, with Mel sipping a hot beverage on the balcony, then crying on a toilet, eating marshmallows, and hugging a chicken. It later switches to colour, as Mel (of course) transitions into a rap, in a bathroom.
The lyrics to her song/rap are as follows:
I’m feeling I’m by myself
Michelle left me when I was doing engineering in Sydney at UTS
She up and left
My favourite colour is green
My daughter’s left. She’s in Denmark being an air hostess
By myself once again
You’re nothing. You’re a loser
Your favourite chips are salt and vinegar
No pumpkin in my pants and a warm feeling good
Put a ring on her finger
No, she didn’t linger
No reason why that look in your eyes gone cold
Cold – the same as Copenhagen
Minstrel, she’s my woman now
Blue hull, and it’s been anti-foul
It’s just me and Alfred alone on this bed
In the studio, Tom Gleeson says that he’d thought for a moment that they might make it through the task without Mel rapping. He states that he’d loved the first half — deeply depressing lyrics and all — and claims that if the whole song had been in that style, Mel would’ve earned 6 points. However, since only half of Mel’s performance was a country song, she earns just 3 points.
