Mel subjects Tom Cashman to negative reviews

While reading the task brief, Mel misreads the time limit on the task and exclaims “Four hours?! That’s a long time.” before Tom Cashman corrects her. She then tells him that “You can’t hear all my secrets”, and says that one of them will have to leave the room.
During her preparation time, Mel searches for negative reviews of Tom’s work online.
Mel writes the words ‘Stand Here’ on her mat. When Tom enters the room and steps on the mat, Mel’s voice is played through a speaker, reading a review comparing Taskmaster Australia to the UK original, in which the author claimed that the two Toms had “no natural chemistry” and were “trying too hard”. Mel’s voice then continues by reading a personal review by someone who’d once lived with Tom Cashman, referencing an ugly welcome mat that he’d bought.
In the studio, Tom Gleeson says that he appreciates the idea of reading out bad reviews, but points out that the mat itself had simply told Tom to ‘stand here’, which was not unwelcoming.
Mel earns just 1 point.
