Aaron makes a racket in the kitchen

As Aaron enters the lab and spots the tennis balls and racquet, he names the tennis players Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andre Agassi, and asks Tom Cashman what they all have in common. Tom answers that “They’re all men.”

Having read the task brief, Aaron heads to the kitchen, where he finds an electric hand whisk and two blenders. He pours hard-boiled sweets into the blenders and a bowl for the whisk, then plugs them all into a single extension lead, noting that he doesn’t know much about electrics, but hopes it’ll work.

When Tom blows his whistle, Aaron uses the tennis racquet to turn on the extension cord, causing the whisk and blenders to whirr into action, and hard-boiled sweets to bounce out of them.

In the studio, when Tom Gleeson asks how the racquet was involved in the noise, Aaron explains that he’d cut a hole in it and thread the cable through, allowing him to “hit that cable into an extension cord. Game. Set. Match.”

Tom Cashman reveals that Aaron’s racket was the loudest, registering at 102 decibels, so Aaron wins the task and earns 5 points.
