Jacob drops the candle
Jacob discovers a mannequin arm, while exploring the contents of the shed, and decides to use that to extend his reach.
He is able to successfully pick up the candle with the arm, but then drops it again, extinguishing the flame.
In the studio he jokes that he was going to let the trade winds blow it out, and then claim the 6,500km distance from the Carribean (plus his extended arm).
He is ultimately disqualified, however, for extinguishing the candle without it being 'blown' out.
