Sofie solves the problem with technology

Sofie immediately identifies that it doesn't have to be her that blows the candle out.

She hops into her car with 8:45 left on the clock, and drives as far away from the house as she can in six minutes, before calling Mark on his phone and asking him to blow the candle out for her.

The plan works, with Sofie's distance from the candle measured at 2.4km, earning her first place overall.
