Rob and Sara free Alex

Here's a description of the contestant's attempt. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to illustrate it.

Rob and Sara quickly check on Alex, given the odd way he is standing, and discover that he is handcuffed. Rob begins by trying to pick the lock on the handcuffs, but only succeeds in making them tighter. Sara find the UV light and checks the task brief, finding the hidden instructions of ‘Release Alex. Fastest wins’. On the reverse of the task brief they find the first clue, ‘Look on the phone’. They initially check the actual phone in the room and find nothing, before Sara suggests that maybe there’s a picture of a phone, and they spot the one Greg is holding in his portrait. Using the UV light again, they find the code “911” on the portrait phone, and use it to open the small box, finding the jigsaw puzzle inside. Completing the puzzle quite efficiently, Sara realises there is a message on the back. Rob turns it over carelessly, breaking it up again, but they are able to piece it back together and find the message ‘Karma by Gregor Davies. Page 72. Word 14.’ They find the appropriate book on the nearby bookshelves, and locate the relevant page and word, which turns out to be ‘shedding’. Rob suggests they look in the shed, where they find a Christmas cracker. After pulling the cracker, they find the clue inside telling them to ‘Look behind the picture’. They first look behind Greg’s portrait, and then Rob goes into the hallway. The first picture he takes off the wall turns out to be the one concealing a photo of Alex’s hand, holding the key. The team complete the task in 16 minutes and 46 seconds, earning 5 points.
