Vegard sends Fabian on a journey
Vegard starts off by trying to get around the budget limitations by booking a round-trip to Bergen, using his bonus airline points, but then realises that the tax on the ticket alone would exceed the budget. He therefore starts considering how he can make a cannon or a catapult instead.
His equipment order includes a nebulously-defined "long thing", and the total cost comes out at 199.80 kroner, after he goes on a digression about how the production company will use tax deductions.
He ends up receiving a long plank, some elasticised rope, a plastic container, and some duct tape. He tapes one end of his rope to the top of the plank, forming a loop, and then attaches his assembly to a football goal.
He tapes the owl - who he names Fabian, after a previous mayor of Oslo - into the plastic box, and then sends Fabian on an "insignificant journey" by launching the box straight up using his slingshot.
The video of his owl's launch is shown side-by-side with Calle’s, as they use similar strategies.
When the contestants's results are later revealed on an infographic, it turns out that Calle has managed to get his owl slightly higher than Vegard, so Vegard earns third place.
