Anders chooses aesthetics over efficiency

When introducing Anders’ attempt, Mark reveals that, at the time, Anders had claimed that his solution to the task was the most elegant.

Mark says that while this may have been true, Anders had not been particularly fast.

In his attempt, Anders quickly deals with the lock, and pokes his finger into the bottle, identifying that there is jelly inside.

After trying to shake some of the jelly out, he declares that it will take too long.

He states that heating the jelly will change its texture, so he brings a microwave into the lab and puts the bottle inside, initially setting the microwave timer for 55 minutes.

After the jelly is heated enough, Anders is able to easily shake it out of the bottle.

He then turns his attention to the banana, stating that he cannot shrink it to fit it into the bottle, and instead deciding to dehydrate it in the oven.

After leaving the banana in the oven for an unknown length of time, Anders puts the now-blackened fruit into a plastic bag, and then smashes it with a hammer, reducing it to tiny, charred bits.

He pours the bits into the bottle and, to make sure all remnants of the banana are inside, also rolls up the plastic bag and puts that into the bottle.

In the studio, Anders acknowledges that Hadi is a “powerhouse” of time and efficiency, when it comes to putting a frozen banana into a bottle, but asks Lasse to also consider the “aesthetics” of the situation.

Anders completes the task in 2 hours and 47 minutes (which Mark points out is the longest time ever taken in a ‘fastest wins’ task in Stormester history), and earns third place.
