Petra invents the double knife

Petra introduces her invention by noting that she has young children, and asking Lasse to think back to when his own children were young.

Specifically, she wants him to recall the constant anxious feeling of having too much to do and never enough time.

Since she cannot re-invent the babysitter, Petra has decided instead to invent the ‘double knife’ – essentially just two kitchen knives connected in parallel – which she says can be used to speed up everyday tasks such as slicing bread for sandwiches.

She then reveals that she has actually expanded on this concept, as she fetches a prototype for a ‘multipurpose tool’, consisting of a large, forked device with various tools attached to the prongs, which she claims can be used to simultaneously feed one child, brush the hair of another, cut bread, swat flies, and clean something.

She demonstrates her prototype on a somewhat terrified-looking Jesper.

Lasse awards Petra fourth place.
