Petra makes a surprise announcement

Introducing her presentation, Petra declares that to her, what makes people interesting are the things they experience in life.

As such, she decides to make her vegetable interesting by sending it on a journey, which she documents using a slideshow of photographs.

She describes how, while hosting the Danish version of The Bachelorette in Mexico, she had bought an interesting vegetable from a woman, and had then taken that vegetable to work with her, and on a sight-seeing tour with her to Chichen Itza (an ancient Mayan city).

She reveals that vegetable was also present at more intimate and personal events, such as her partner Asbjørn’s birthday, and her first ultrasound at the gynaecologist’s office.

Petra takes the opportunity at this point to officially announce that she is pregnant with her third child [note: the studio recordings took place in February 2023, and Petra did not post on social media about her pregnancy until March 2023].

She then continues with her story, stating that despite spending so much time together with the vegetable, she still did not know at the time what it actually was.

She then reveals that she had taken it to Rasmus Kofoed (a respected Danish chef who runs the first 3 Michelin star restaurant in Denmark), who had both autographed it by carving his initials into it, and had informed Petra that it was (in Petra’s words) a “casablanca cappuccina” (note: in reality, it is a calabaza squash).
