Melvin uses gaffer tape

Melvin tells Mark to turn around and look the other way while he is tying himself up.

He drapes rope around himself, then uses gaffer tape to secure it all in place.

He tangles himself in multiple layers, alternating between rope and gaffer tape.

After the alarm sounds and Melvin has donned his boiler suits, Melvin keeps the garment on and just adds yet another layer of rope and gaffer tape on the outside.

When Mark complains that he can’t get the tape on Melvin’s butt loose, Melvin laughs and says he’s been trying to get rid of his butt for years, but “no squats can tame it”.

Melvin is freed in 13 minutes and 20 seconds, and he earns second place.
