Melvin pulls a Rhod Gilbert

When the task is presented, Lasse asks all of the contestants to raise their hands if they believe they know what the switch does.

Thomas and Stephania – who definitely know – raise their hands, but so does Melvin.

When introducing the footage of Melvin’s attempt, Mark says that he’s presenting “someone who’s very sure” that he knows, but who “gets it very wrong”.

In his attempt, Melvin acquires a drill and unscrews the wooden plank that the switch is attached to from the wall of the lab.

He then removes the switch from the plank, and discovers that it’s just an empty casing.

He therefore declares that the switch does absolutely nothing, as it’s not connected to anything.

In the studio, Melvin says that he was quite impressed by the elaborate set-up in the study, which he never actually entered during the task.

Melvin is disqualified for not solving the task.
