Episode 1: Kamal Kharmach

Episode synopsis

In this episode the contestants must bring in the hippest item of clothing, rescue a cat from a tree, impress a Mayor, conceal a pineapple on their person, and then pop on a onesie inside a tent. In a thrilling tie-breaker, three contestants must estimate how much it costs to rescue a cat from a tree.

Taskmaster Intro

My name is Gert Verhulst, and this is Het Grootste Licht. In this programme, we'll be making a flock of Famous Flemish do things they'll be ashamed about for years. So why do they keep showing up? Well, because we pay them a hell of a lot. That's how famous Flemish do. I still don't know how our contestants did, and nor do any of our contestants. At the end, I'll personally appoint a winner, who will be allowed to name themself 'The Brightest Light' for one week. It's going to be a great show. Only our contestants could possibly mess it all up. Please allow me to introduce them to you.

Contestant Intros

A woman who's in with a shot if I ever refresh K3: the amazing Frieda Van Wijck!

Note: K3 was a Belgian pop group consisting of three women, with the line-up changing over the years. Gert founded the group, and is rumoured to have dated two of its members.

A man who's funnier than Bumba, but Bumba speaks better Dutch than he does: the great Sven de Ridder!

Note: Bumba is the titular clown character from a Flemish television programme for toddlers, produced by Gert's production company, Studio 100.

A young fawn who's as hoppity as Wizzy & Woppy, Maya the Bee, and my entire village of gnomes: the ravishing Olga Leyers!

Note: Wizzy & Woppy, Maya the Bee, and Kabouter Plop ['Plop the Gnome'] are all children's TV programmes that were produced by Gert's production company, Studio 100.

The Mega Toby of the art of imitation, and I do so admire him. Earlier he showed off his Guga Baul imitation, and it was so good! It's Guga Baùl!
