Taskmaster Intro
Welcome! I am Gert Verhulst, and this is Het Grootste Licht. A few months ago, VTM begged me to present this programme. I had three demands: a lot of money; a big chair; and a gorgeous assistant. Out of those three, I ended up getting two. In this programme, I have absolute authority, just like I do in real life. That's why five famous Flemish have completed a series of ingenious challenges for me. None of them know how the others did. At the end of this evening, I'll be appointing a single winner. He or she will be 'The Brightest Light' for the entire week. With a joyousness resembling pure ecstasy, I'd like to introduce our contestants.
Contestant Intros
A woman who's reached such a blessed age that the word 'ribbed' doesn't remind her of contraceptives, but of knitwear: Frieda van Wijck!
A man who, if he lived in the Middle Ages, wouldn't have been at, but under the round table: the noble Sven de Ridder!
A woman who was Jan Leyers' fourth go at making a son: Olga Leyers!
Note: Olga is the youngest of four daughters of the Belgian musician and TV producer Jan Anna August Leyers and the actor Anne Meunier.
Nearly everything a woman could want, as well as nearly everything a man would like to be. Which almost makes him what I've already become. The great Guga Baùl!
A woman who dominated the 'Most Beautiful Woman of Flanders' list for years, and still easily ranks in the top three this evening: the ravishing Veronique De Kock!
Note: Veronique was a model and beauty pageant contestant in her youth, winning the titles of 'Miss Flanders' in 1994, and 'Miss Belgium' in 1995.
Assistant Intro
And just like any other mighty ruler, I lord over a personal assistant: Ruth Beeckmans!
