Édition des Fêtes
Episode synopsis
In this festive holiday special, the contestants must bring in the worst gift they have received, drink all of the vinegar, present themselves as a gift to Antoine, write lyrics to a classic Christmas song while incorporating five different words, quickly open a gift and then re-wrap it, and survive a high-stakes game of ‘Louis Says…’. Also, one contestant is tasked with untangling a pile of Christmas lights.
Episode notes
- The theme music used for this episode is the version also used in the promotional trailers for the Taskmaster UK New Year’s Treat specials.
- All of the contestants are wearing ugly Christmas sweaters during the filming of their tasks in the house.
- During the introductions, referencing the fact that the show’s trophy does not very closely resemble Louis, Pier-Luc questions whether the winner will take home the golden bust of the Quebecois TV and radio host Patrice L’Écuyer (to whom it does have a resemblance).
Title context
The title is merely a reference to the fact that it is a special holiday episode of the show.
Taskmaster Intro
Good evening, and welcome to the Taskmaster Holiday Special. My name is Louis Morissette, and I am the Taskmaster. For one night only, I have devised a series of tasks for five beloved comedians to complete. Together, we'll discover what they did, and how they did it. As the Taskmaster, I'll hand out points to the most deserving contestants, based on highly subjective and ambiguous criteria. Tonight's winner will be crowned the first Taskmaster Holiday Special Champion!
Contestant Intros
The most supple man, who could even be the garland on his own Christmas tree: Pier-Luc Funk!
A woman who will compete while pregnant, just like her idol, The Virgin Mary: Virginie Fortin!
The host of Survivor; I think his own tribe will vote him out of his own New Year’s Eve party: Patrice Bélanger!
Note: Patrice is the host of the Quebecois version of the TV show Survivor.
She’s as bubbly as sparkling wine: Mélissa Bédard!
He’s so cheap, that nobody wants him as a Secret Santa: Pierre Hébert!
Assistant Intro
If I could crown the best assistant... well, I wouldn’t, because he already has one: Antoine Vézina!
Note: Louis uses the word ‘couronne’, which means ‘crown’, but can also refer to a bald head.
