Villa Frescati is a building located in Frescati, Stockholm, within the National City Park.

The villa was built in the years 1791-1792, as Gustaf Mauritz Armfelt's (a Swedish baron and courtier) summer pleasure on the eastern side of Brunnsviken.

In 1791, Gustav III (King of Sweden from 1771 to 1792) donated an area of land on the eastern side of Brunnsviken to Armfelt. The area that was called Ulriksdal's storäng was named Frescati, inspired by Gustav III's trip to Italy, in which Armfelt had also taken part.

Originally, it was intended to build a bathhouse at Brunnsvikens beach, and several drafts were made. Although these ideas remained on paper, they influenced the final design of the building.

Armfelt never actually lived in the villa at Frescati as, when its construction was completed, Gustav III had been murdered, and Armfelt had fled the country.

Taskmaster connection

The house was used for the production of pre-filmed tasks throughout seasons 1 through 4 of the show.

It was then used for the filming of tasks during the single episode 'Loser of Losers' special.
