Stormester Champion of Losers special announced
Just three days after confirming rumours of a Champion of Champions special, there was more exciting news from Denmark this week as the official Stormester Instagram channel announced that they are also making a Champion of Losers special mini-season.
The special run will also consist of four episodes, giving us ample opportunity to witness some of the show's least successful - but arguably most entertaining - contestants back in action.
The images shared on Instagram do not reveal the actual identities of those contestants, so it's unclear if they've actually brought back the lowest-scoring contestant from each of the first five seasons, or if they've just made a selection from the non-winners across those seasons.
If this is going to be a pure Champion of Losers competition, then the contestants would be Nikolaj Stokholm from season 1, Jacob Taarnhøj from season 2, Heino Hansen from season 3, Anders Breinholt from season 4, and Sofie Kaufmanas from season 5.
However, given the way the identities of the contestants have been obscured in the Instagram photos, it seems more likely that a selection has been made from among the lowest-scoring contestants.
The live studio recordings for this special mini-season will presumably take place around the same time as those for the Champion of Champions special (in November 2022), as the tickets will be going on sale for both specials on the same day: October 3rd.
No indication has yet been given about whether the two specials will air back-to-back, taking the place of a normal eight episode season, or whether they will be broadcast at different times of the year.
Hopefully the production of these specials does not mean that there will be no season 7, featuring a fresh batch of contestants, in 2023, though.
