The brief for the task is as follows:
Make the tallest free-standing structure.
You may only use balloons, tape, your pool noodles and umbrella.
You have five minutes to construct your tower, after which it must stand on its own for 10 seconds.
Task notes
- The contestants are lined up side-by-side on stage, each wearing a hi-vis vest of a different colour, and standing next to a plinth.
- On and leaning against each plinth, there are pool noodles in two lengths (two long ones and four short ones), a plastic umbrella, a balloon pump, some uninflated balloons, and rolls of clear and coloured tape. The colours of these items match the colours of the contestants' vests.
- In front of each plinth, a box has been taped out on the floor using tape of the same colour as each contestants' vest and objects.
