Wil fashions funnels from card
After reading the task brief, Wil grabs the ‘This’ container and tentatively begins to lift it, quickly realising that there is a hole in the bottom. After placing it back down, he has a look at what is available in the room. He spots the vacuum cleaner but decides this is no use as he would only be able to use it to pick up one ball at a time.
He leaves the lab and returns with some stiff sheets of card. He slides one sheet underneath the ‘This’ jar and then cuts a hole in another sheet and places it over the top of the ‘That’ jar as a sort of flat funnel, to catch the balls. Covering the bottom of the ‘This’ jar with the card, he picks it up and pours some of the balls into the ‘That’ jar, but a few fall to the floor.
Wil is not completely happy with his approach, asking “Why is this going so badly?”. After leaving the room again, he returns and makes a more effective funnel for the ‘That’ jar.
In the studio, Wil comments that he previously hadn’t thought he was very competent, but has since discovered that he is at least half competent. Having completed the task in 22 minutes and 14 seconds, Wil earns 5 points.
