Joonas gets naughty

After a brief search of the shed, Joonas emerges with a wiffle ball, and asks Pilvi if there’s any olive oil or “some sort of lubricant” around that he can use.

He returns to the lab with his wiffle ball, a glass bottle, and a bottle of olive oil. At this point, suggestive saxophone music starts playing over the footage. Joonas doesn’t help matters, clearly fully aware of how suggestive his attempt looks, giving sly glances to the camera as he carefully slides the doughnut over the well-oiled glass bottle.

Eventually, Joonas manages to succeed in his mission, despite the tight fit, and turns his mind towards the question: what else could fit through the doughnut, now that “the way has been cleared”?

In a moment of complete abandon during the final minute of his attempt, Joonas covers his entire right forearm in olive oil and starts to shove his fist through the hole in the doughnut [Note: this was actually attempted before by a Taskmaster PT contestant, albeit in a much less suggestive manner]. Unsurprisingly, Joonas manages to split his doughnut; surprisingly, it’s while trying to widen the hole, rather than while his fist is in it.

In the studio, when Jaakko questions what Joonas’ career was before he started working on television, Joonas asks if he had been demonstrating “experience from other fields” that he’d utilised during his attempt. Jaakko calls Joonas’ attempt “practiced”, and asks Joonas if he is aware of what time the show is broadcast (implying that Joonas’ attempt was perhaps too racy for any children who may be watching). Joonas jokes that he doesn’t actually watch the show, as he is too busy in his kitchen with his olive oil.

Unsurprisingly, Joonas earns last place – even if his doughnut hadn’t split, his glass bottle was only 19cm long. Joonas – still leaning on the suggestive theme of his attempt – argues that he had been banking on girth, not length. Jaakko replies that while everyone else present was making an entertainment show, Joonas was apparently competing in the “adult entertainment category”. However, Jaakko awards Joonas a bonus point for being so entertaining during his attempt.
