Wil resists Tom’s wicked temptations

When Tom Cashman asks Wil what strengths he has, Wil says he’s a white straight man and adds “that used to be enough”.

Wil decides to demonstrate his strength by pulling the Taskmaster van behind him with two ropes. He decides to up the stakes by also demonstrating his strength of character, by declining a series of tempting distractions offered up by Tom.

Tom begins his temptation by offering Wil a lolly, which Wil loudly declines by shouting “No!”, before starting to pull the van. Tom then attempts to tempt Wil with a vegan sausage, but Wil claims he’s too strong for a vegan sausage, as he continues to pull the van. Next, Tom offers him the keys to a 1965 Ford Mustang, but Wil insists that he’s more interested in showing off his strength.

Having apparently pulled the van as far as the grass, Wil then takes a lolly and leaves, as the camera pans to show that two production crew members had been pushing the van from behind.

In the studio, Tom Gleeson points out that he’s managed to resist vegan sausages all his life, without even thinking about it. Wil admits that it wasn’t actually a vegan sausage, as it had been made from plasticine. Wil also claims that he had been quite sore the next day, despite having had people there to help him push the van.

Despite Wil pointing out that the task had instructed them to look extremely strong, not actually be strong, Tom Gleeson decides to award him just 1 point for pretending to pull the van.
