The Discount Wiggles incur the maximum possible penalty

The Discount Wiggles’ first time to convey to Tom Gleeson is 8:48am. They begin by yawning and stretching, and then Wil looks and points at his wrist while saying the word “work”, and Jenny copies him and then rushes across the stage. Lloyd says the word “school”, and walks slowly behind them. Tom guesses 8:50am, which is just 2 minutes out.

The team’s next time to convey to Tom is 10:50pm. Wil stands up and darts across the stage, ready to begin miming, while Lloyd and Jenny remain sitting down, apparently not having come up with an idea yet. This throws Wil, leading him to say “Hang on, is it just me?”. Jenny responds that they were just waiting for him to do something, so they could join in. The Toms then both point out that Wil has already used way too many words. When Wil objects that he hadn’t actually started yet, Tom Cashman points out that he most definitely had. The team incurs the maximum possible penalty of 12 hours for the round.

The team’s final time to convey to Tom is 12:02am. Wil throws his fists up and says the word “happy”, Lloyd then follows with the word “new”, and Jenny finishes off with the word “year”. They all then dance around as if at a New Year’s Eve party. Tom guesses 12am, which is again just 2 minutes out.

Despite their successes in the first and third rounds, their huge penalty in the second round means that The Discount Wiggles end up with a total difference of 724 minutes, which earns them just 1 point each.
