Jack recreates Van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear

As Jack reads the task brief, he accidentally mispronounces the word ‘recreation’. When Alex then asks him whether he understands the brief, he objects to the implication that he’s thick. When Alex points out his mispronunciation, Jack points out that the words are spelt exactly the same.

Jack decides to recreate Vincent Van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear in the living room.

Dressed in a thick overcoat and hat, wearing a ginger wig, and with a bandage wrapped around his head, Jack sits down in front of a crayon drawing mounted on some sheets in the background, while speaking to Alex in a Dutch accent.

In the studio, before the reveal of the final artworks, Greg admits that he is “blown away” by how much Jack looks like Van Gogh. After the reveal of the finished recreation, Greg asks “Who would’ve thought that anyone could look more haunted than Vincent van Gogh?”, adding that “Van Gogh looks like it’s his birthday by comparison!”.

Frustrated that every contestant had done a really good job in the task, Greg reluctantly acknowledges that he'll have to give everyone a lot of points, and then just “hope they fuck up the next task”. He awards everyone 5 points.
