Andy recreates Picasso’s Guernica
Andy decides to attempt to recreate Pablo Picasso’s Guernica on the stage at the side of the house.
His composition includes parts of multiple mannequins, Linda the cow, a model of a horse’s head, a stuffed toy white tiger, a rubber duck watering can, a baby doll’s head, a sword made from cardboard and aluminium foil, a stuffed toy owl (about which he asks “Does this look like a human mother?”), and Alex Horne, using multiple plinths and tables to position items.
While the recreation is not very accurate, it does somewhat resemble the original artwork when pictured in high-contrast black and white.
Greg states that Andy’s ambition in tackling such a complex piece of artwork should be rewarded, and Andy states that “amongst the many things this show doesn’t address, the pity of war is right up there”.
When Emma points out that Linda the cow is facing the opposite direction to the bull in the original artwork, Greg feigns shock that she has spotted an inaccuracy.
Frustrated that every contestant had done a really good job in the task, Greg reluctantly acknowledges that he'll have to give everyone a lot of points, and then just “hope they fuck up the next task”. He awards everyone 5 points.
