Emma becomes an Elvis hot dog
Emma enters the living room wearing the hot dog costume, prompting Alex to state that she doesn’t look much different to when she’s wearing her usual task outfit.
Having read the task brief, she decides to label her elbow “Gemma”. For her surprising noise, she makes the sound “Cra!”. For her interesting leg movement, she performs an extended wobbly-leg dance, somewhat resembling a move performed by Elvis Presley. As she begins this dance, Alex tells her that she still has 40 seconds remaining, which appears to encourage her to keep it going for 25 seconds. Towards the end of this period, she starts to squat down lower on her wobbly legs, turning it into a real workout.
Starting the second part of the task, Emma completes the first two actions in each repetition very quickly, but seems to believe that she must replicate the full 25-second leg movement each and every time (and is not discouraged from this belief by Alex). Unsurprisingly, her legs soon begin to tire from this intensive workout. At one point, she announces that she’s worried about people she went to school with seeing her do this.
As Alex blows his whistle at the end of the 10 minutes, she collapses forward onto the rug, exhausted.
In the studio, Greg describes Emma’s attempt as “heart-breaking”, and she shares that she was “hurting for days” afterwards. When Greg asks her about the people from school she is worried about, she shares that it’s “just the bitches, really”, and then suggests that those people would have reacted to seeing her attempt by saying something like “Oh, you’re an Elvis hot dog”.
Alex reveals that Emma had managed to complete 13 repetitions of her sequence, which puts her in last place and earns her 1 point. However, this is doubled to 2 points because she was wearing the hot dog costume.
