Abby gets saucy with a lamp

Abby initially suggests that she could try turning on the lamps in the sexual sense. In the studio, it’s revealed that she’d spent a lot of time trying this approach, and she admits that she’s glad that this footage wasn’t shown. Paul notes that she’d written a saucy letter to one of the lamps, and Abby jokes that “The lamp left me on read”, this coining the episode title.

For her actual attempt, Abby decides to try to turn on the green desk lamp, which she chooses because of the “vibe”. Tying some string to the lamp’s pull-cord, she retreats upstairs to the study, unravelling the string as she goes.

After gently tugging on the string, she goes to check in the lab and discovers that the lamp has not been turned on. She then tapes the base of the lamp to the desk, so she can pull harder on the string and the lamp won’t fall over.

With her final aggressive tug on the string, Abby manages to not only turn the lamp on, but also pulls it free of most of the tape holding it onto the table, leaving it hanging on by a single piece of tape.

Abby completes the task in 28 minutes and 57 seconds, earning just 1 point.
