Episode synopsis
In this episode, the contestants must bring in the best thing that Jeremy has never owned, throw a marshmallow over the wall and catch it in their mouth, turn on a lamp in the lab, film a trailer for a trailer, and win a game of office chair bowling.
Matt Heath represents Tofiga Fepulea’i in the studio for this episode.
Title context
Abby Howells stated that “The lamp left me on ‘read', unfortunately.”, while discussing how she’d written a “saucy letter” to a lamp during her attempt at the ‘Turn on a lamp in the lab’ task.
Taskmaster Intro
Nau mai, piki mai, and welcome to Taskmaster. Thanks for joining us tonight, unless you’re somehow watching this illegally, in which case, I’d like to say, you’re very naughty, and I hope you like jail, because that’s exactly where you’re going. To the rest of you, though, my name is Jeremy Wells, and I am the Taskmaster. Joining me on the stage tonight are four of Aotearoa’s top thousand comedians.
Note: 'Nau mai, piki mai' is Māori for 'Welcome, welcome here'.
Assistant Intro
Next to me, as always, keeping track of the scores and adding them all up like a big calculator made of human meat, it’s my trusty assistant Paul Williams!
Taskmaster's Sign-off
As we wrap up another successful episode, it’s time to look back and reflect on what we’ve learned. We’ve learned that sometimes a wall has a hole in it for a reason. We’ve learned it’s a lot easier to turn on a lamp when you’re in the same room as it. And we’ve learned that there is life on other planets, and it looks a lot like Paul Williams. But most importantly of all, we’ve learned that Tom Sainsbury is the winner of episode three!
