Abby teaches the bullies a lesson, and says no to scrubs

For her festive drink, Abby fetches a glass of water and fires the contents of a party popper into it.

Holding her glass of water and a clipboard, Abby then practises a dance, saying “Still got it.” When Paul asks her how she knows the dance from Cats, she reveals that she used to do it every day in her bedroom when she was a kid, and dream that one day the bullies would see her doing it and think she was cool.

As the New Year begins, Abby, still holding the clipboard, takes a drink of her water. She then kisses her hand before waving it around the room, thereby sharing the kiss with everyone. Finally, she stands in front of the desk and performs her dance.

In the studio, when Jeremy asks Abby if she’d ever gotten a chance to prove the bullies wrong by showing off her musical theatre skills, she claims that she just did. She then asks, rhetorically, where the bullies are now, before answering her own question by noting that they are probably doctors and lawyers. After Paul claims that the show rates very well with bullies, Ben adds that the format it is literally based on bullying.

Abby’s New Year’s resolutions were “Be kind to myself”, “Party hard”, “Party fresh”, and “No scrubs”. When Paul asks what the last one means, she explains that it means “No bad boys”.

To be kind to herself, Abby heads into the dressing room and looks at herself in the mirror, telling herself that she likes her haircut, and noting that she’d tried a fringe, it didn’t work, and it grew out.

Abby and Paul then head to the lab to party hard. There are soft disco lights in the lab, and they are both wearing party hats. Abby has a bottle of champagne, which she opens and sprays. Paul cowers at the pop of the champagne, and then covers his face.

The pair then move to the garden to “Party fresh”. Abby opens up another bottle of champagne and takes a swig of it from the bottle, while dancing around and cheering.

Finally, we see Abby on the driveway, where a car pulls up, and Paul leans out of the passenger seat window, wearing shades and a backwards baseball cap. When Abby asks Paul if he is respectful, he admits he is not, so she says “Then get out of here, scrub!”, before taking another swig from the bottle of champagne.

Having fulfilled all four resolutions, Abby wins the task and earns 5 points.
