Tofiga makes soap from soap

Tofiga retrieves the task brief from the sink and says he’s got a good feeling about the task.

He requests a bar of soap from the supermarket, plus salt, Rexona (an Australian deodorant), ice cream, chocolate, and some bananas.

Tofiga, wearing a peg on his ear for no apparent reason, begins by hollowing out the bar of soap with a pair of scissors. As he does so, he admits that perhaps he should have attended his science classes, adding “Any of the classes, really. I should have gone to school, full stop.”

As he adds a teaspoon of salt to the hollowed-out bar, he claims that it “lefritigises” the “interproticles”, before apologising to Paul for using scientific terms that he is not familiar with. He then sprays the bar with the Rexona, before wrapping it up in banana peel.

Claiming that he just needs to let the soap set for a couple of minutes, Tofiga then eats some of the ice cream, while Paul has a piece of the chocolate.

When Paul ask Tofiga what the scent of his soap – which he has named “Salt n’ a soap” – is, Tofiga asks Paul what it smells like to him. Paul suggests it smells like a 13-year-old boy, prompting Tofiga to ask him how he knows what a 13-year-old boy smells like.

In the studio, Jeremy asks Bubbah what she thinks Tofiga had meant by “it lefritigises into interproticles”. Bubbah explains that it’s just like “when your ‘feraticus’ is ‘mechanic-ing’, it falls apart”, and that Tofiga had just “put it together”.

Tofiga is disqualified for ordering soap as one of his ingredients.
