Hayley confidently mispronounces some words

Hayley’s secret mission is to confidently mispronounce three different English words during the studio recording sessions.

In episode 2, during studio discussion of Tom’s attempt at the ‘Relive the best moment of your life’ task, she confidentially says “preformance” rather than ‘performance’, when discussing the idea of putting on a production of Little Shop of Horrors, and no-one comments on the mispronunciation.

In episode 5, during studio discussion of Abby’s attempt at the ‘Move Paul’ task, Hayley says to Abby “You’ve never been through child-breath have you?”, and Abby picks up on and corrects Hayley’s mispronunciation.

Finally, during the prize task of this very episode, Hayley had mispronounced ‘Catan’ as “Cattin”, and Abby had again corrected her on her pronunciation.

After watching the clips of these incidents, Abby acknowledges that she doesn’t come across as “the most likeable”. When Hayley highlights that Abby had caught her on two of her three mispronunciations, Abby refers to herself as “an absolute pedant”, thus coining the episode title.

Hayley earns 5 points for her mispronunciations.
