Virginie nearly drowns herself

Of all of the contestants, Virginie is the only one who seems to interpret the line in the task brief forbidding her from using the hose as meaning that she can’t even use it as a source of water, as she instead fetches water from inside the house.

After emerging from the house with a watering can full of water, she pours it into a tube, which she then places into her mouth, immediately choking on the sudden flood of water.

Virginie then wonders if she can complete the task without using the tube, and so instead attempts to throw the watering can itself towards the sauna stones, while also spitting some water from her mouth. Neither technique gets water anywhere near her target.

After a search of the shed, Virginie emerges with a ladder and a long length of thin plastic tubing. She then enlists Antoine’s help in holding one end of the tubing near the sauna stones, while she climbs the ladder and blows a mouthful of water into the other end. After a few attempts, she is able to make the sauna stones hiss.

Virginie completes the task in 8 minutes and 37 seconds, and earns third place.
