Mel’s intimidating banner

Mel states that banners often rhyme, and will feature slander towards the opponents. When Tom asks Mel who her enemy team is, she announces the name but it gets beeped in the edit. Mel claims that although she can’t prove it, she believes that the woman she’d named regularly throws dog poo onto her lawn. When Tom suggests that she use a different name, Mel decides to call her Sue.

Having created her banner, Mel says “Sue, leave the poo. We know it’s you”, then points to her banner and says it is about one thing only: intimidation. The message on the banner begins with “Sue we know it’s you!”, and is written in red. Mel points out the exclamation mark, which she describes as the “scariest form of punctuation”. The next sentence, “Cease with the Pooh!!”, has two exclamation marks.

Other intimidating things on the banner include some maths problems, including what Mel claims is the worst kind of maths (long division), and what she claims is the scariest number (113). She says that she’s also attached some “actual poo” to the banner.

Mel bursts through her banner with an axe, stating that it’s an intimidating weapon. She then stands holding the axe “sexily”, which she claims is also powerful.

In the studio, Tom Gleeson tells Mel it was an intimidating presentation, but that after watching it he feels like he is on Sue’s side. He says if this was a story on A Current Affair, Mel would be the person shown in slow-motion, black-and-white footage. Mel adds “Yeah, I know, and Sue would be walking along a beach going, ‘I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong’”.

Mel’s banner and burst-through both earn third place, so Mel earns 3 points.
