Rhys demands an epidural

Having read the task brief, Rhys asks if it is too dumb and oversimple to just push something onto the scales, noting that the task seems too simple.

Rhys heads to the shed and finds a long piece of plastic but, on returning to the mat with it, they quickly realise that it isn’t long enough. After another trip to the shed, they place a wooden step ladder between themself and the ‘floor’, then use it as a platform to help them reach across with a parasol and apply pressure to the scale. As they do so, Rhys asks “Is this good television?”, and Tom responds that it depends on how well they do. When Tom tells Rhys to push, they say that they feel like they’re doing a home birth. Tom then asks Rhys if they want him to hold their hand, and Rhys says that they want an epidural.

Rhys manages to get the scale to register a weight of 25.9kg.

In the studio, Tom Gleeson notes that he felt both Pete and Rhys had picked the most obvious way to solve the task, and asks if they think it will be enough. Rhys describes it as the most maddening task they had done to that point. However, Rhys wins the task and earns 5 points.
